Computer Policies


Public Computer use is free with a Library Membership. Without a Library Card, a fee of $2.00/half hour will apply.

ACCESSING ANY INAPPROPRIATE SITES WILL RESULT IN COMPUTER PRIVELEGES BEING REVOKED:1st offense 3 month suspension, 2nd offense 6 months suspension, 3rd offense 1 year.

  • Users must SIGN IN and SIGN OUT at the front desk.
  • COMPUTER TIME: allotted in half-hour intervals; 4 hours max per day, per user; Users must alternate time intervals when others are waiting.
  • PRIORITY for computer use given for education, research, and work purposes.
  • Playing games and ‘chatting’ may be permitted if no other priority users are waiting.
  • Only one user permitted at each computer, except for children accompanied by adults.
  • Children 6 years old and under not permitted to use computers without adult supervision.
  • Using computers/Internet for VIEWING PORNGRAPHY IS NOT PERMITTED.
  • DO NOT attempt to change computer settings or download software.
  • Speakers are not permitted. Earphones may be used for audio.
  • FOOD and DRINKS are not permitted at computer stations.
  • Equipment must be used responsibly - handle keyboard and mouse with care.
  • Documents can be printed at front desk.
  • Personal files are not saved on library computers; users must save their files on disc or USB device.
  • Computers will be shut down 10 minutes before closing time
  • REPEATED FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF COMPUTER PRIVILEGES.
